British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay known for hosting popular television shows like “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Master Chef” and “Kitchen Nightmares” has opened yet another Illinois restaurant in Chicagoland.
The famed chef-turned-TV star has opened countless restaurants around the world since his first restaurant opened back in 1997 amassing 16 Michelin stars in the process and has now branched out to the Chicago suburb of Naperville.
Opened yesterday Tuesday, May 30, in the space previously occupied by Ted’s Montana Grill and Oswald Pharmacy at 39 West Jefferson Street, Naperville’s new “Ramsay’s Kitchen” spans over 5,600 square feet and caters to more than 160 guests across its bar, lounge, and seasonal patio spaces.
Described on the Downtown Naperville website as “a first-of-its-kind dining experience featuring Chef Ramsay classics, twists on favorites, and local fare, inspired by Gordon Ramsay’s global travel” the new restaurant offers an all-day dining menu in a “casually elegant” setting.
The menu features many signature dishes found at Ramsay’s Kitchens such as the Beef Wellington, Fish & Chips, Crispy Skin Salmon, and Chicken Milanese, all of which are cooked in an open-concept kitchen in the center of the restaurant providing diners with a front-row seat.
With the Naperville outpost joining the Gordon Ramsay Burger in River North and a two-story Hell’s Kitchen underway just a few blocks away on the corner of N. State Street and E. Ontario Street, the Chicagoland area will soon be home to three Gordon Ramsay restaurants.
It is also the 3rd “Ramsay’s Kitchen” in the United States with two others located in Boston and Las Vegas, though he has 13 restaurants in total across the country.
“I am thrilled to bring my culinary adventures to guests in Naperville. These are some of my favorite dishes inspired by my travels around the world and our team couldn’t be more excited to share them with this beautiful city,” said Ramsay in a news release.
“The restaurant’s team and I are also thrilled to immerse ourselves in the warmth of the Midwest. Great food brings people together, and we can’t wait to welcome guests into the restaurant and become part of this great community.”
