The internationally-renowned chef is daring Chicago to eat Hot Dogs with ketchup.
Famed chef-turned-TV star Gordon Ramsay has opened countless restaurants around the world opened since opening his first restaurant back in 1997 amassing 16 Michelin stars in the process. The star of Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares then posted a video on his social media channels over the summer announcing that he would be venturing into the Chicago restaurant scene with a ritzy new burger restaurant in River North.
Now the restaurant has finally opened its doors, offering guests a mouth-watering menu featuring ‘hot dawgs’, wings, nachos, shakes, and of course a selection of signature burgers.
The new burger joint has taken over the 5,000-square-foot space at the corner of N. State Street and E. Ontario Street, where Wahlburgers used to be. Outfitted with a full island bar and seating for 120 people, alongside offering a menu of signature burgers it is reportedly daring Chicago to eat Hot Dogs with ketchup.
The Chipotle Dawg consists of cheddar, avocado, chipotle ketchup, Fresno chiles, and jalapeños and costs $14. For one dollar less guests can order the Standard Dawg which comes with onion, mustard, house ketchup, and house pickles.
The focal point of the menu, the burgers are priced between $15 and $19. The Backyard Burger containing American cheese, bibb lettuce, tomato, red onion, and house pickles costs just $15 while the most expensive burger on the menu is the Vegan Burger at $19 made of a plant-based patty, vegan bun, bibb lettuce, tomato, avocado, and eggless garlic mayo.
For just $17 guests can feast on the Hell’s Kitchen Burger made of asadero cheese, roasted jalapeño, avocado, and roasted tomato or a Forest Burger of gruyère, mixed mushrooms, fried egg, arugula, and porcini aioli.
Gordon Ramsay Burger is open from 11 am to 10 pm Monday to Thursday, from 11 am to 11 pm Friday and Saturdays and 11 am–9 pm on Sundays.
