It’s no secret that Chicago is a pedestrian-friendly metropolis—now, a new ranking has made it official, naming the Windy City among the most walkable cities on the planet.
The ranking from Timeout surveyed 18,500 from around the world, gathering data on how easily people can navigate different global cities on foot.
Chicago claimed the number 5 spot, with other U.S. cities including New York and Boston making the top five.
Chicago’s unique level of walkability is enhanced by our city’s grid layout, ample walking trails, and pedestrian-designated roadways.
