Known as the tallest tower in Chicago (and the third tallest in the United States), Chicago’s beloved and recognizable Willis Tower turns 50 today, and they’re coming back better than ever with a free bi-weekly outdoor concert series!
To celebrate, Willis Tower is hosting an open house today from 3 pm to 8 pm! The celebratory party is filled with live music, Chicago-centric performances, delicious food, and drinks galore!
Back to the concert series for a second! The bi-weekly series, aptly titled Willis Tower’s Outdoor Summer Concert Series, will be held in a newly renovated space dubbed Catalog, which is in honor of the Sears Catalog produced in the building 50 years ago.
Back in 2021, they redid the Sky Deck, bringing a new interactive museum that added another fun bucket-list item to Chicago’s expansive options!
According to the official website, the anniversary celebration will be “anchored in the newly redeveloped space, spotlighting our several dining and entertainment options.” making it a cool chance to explore the newly redesigned event space!
The iconic building is no stranger to celebratory events, often lighting up the tall antennas in a series of vibrant colors for events like the Color Factory opening and the Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour..
For its 50th anniversary, they’re going all out lighting up the antennas in gorgeous gold and white hues all week!
