With a heavy rotation of incredible entertainers slated to perform in Chicago this summer, the city is expected to go all out in celebration of artists as the likes of Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Queen, and more stop by to sing their hearts out.
Skydeck Chicago often lights up the antennas to celebrate events, like Color Factory’s grand opening last year, holidays like Memorial Day, and more. This weekend, Taylor Swift is stopping by Soldier Field so it’s about time for Swifties to assemble!
There’s already a massive lineup of fans gathered at Soldier Field looking to grab coveted Eras Tour merch, which went on sale today at 10 am.
To celebrate Swift on her Eras Tour Chicago stop, Skydeck Chicago and Willis Tower will light up the beloved twin antennas in a variety of colors this weekend. Get ready to paint the town red….and blue, and green and purple and gold.
Keep reading for a rundown of Skydecks’s incredible color schedule this weekend in honor of Ms. Swift:
On Friday, June 2nd, the luminous antennas will turn green and teal to honor Taylor Swift (her debut album) and 1989, Taylor Swift’s 1st and 5th albums respectively!
Saturday, June 3rd, the tower turns purple and gold for Speak Now and Fearless, two colors heavily associated with Swift’s beloved 3rd and 2nd albums.
Finally on Sunday, June 4th, as Swift ends her 3-night run at Soldier Field, the tower will shine red and pink lights across the city to represent both her 4th album Red and her 7th album Lover.
For anyone attending the show: expect heavy traffic
Most major roadways (like I-55, I-90, I-90/94, and I-290) all lead directly to Soldier Field but will most likely be congested as concert=goers head to the stadium. Find additional directions to Soldier Field by car here .
As for public transit: CTA’s Red, Green, and Orange Lines stop at Roosevelt Station and lead to a 20-minute walk to the stadium. If you’re coming from Union Station, grab the No. 130 Museum Campus bus to Soldier Field.
