Popular online furniture retailer Wayfair opened its new outlet store in Naperville Thursday after months of anticipation. The discount outlet comes several months after Wayfair opened its first physical store on Chicago’s north shore.
A Wayfair spokesperson told NBC Chicago that the outlet store would sell used items in good condition and returned products at a discounted price. The Naperville outlet is the first of its kind in Illinois, joining Wayfair’s roster of other outlet locations in Kentucky, Texas, New York, and North Carolina.
According to NBC, Wayfair’s debut brick-and-mortar store opened in Wilmette in May of this year. The 150,000-square-foot warehouse features over 80,000 pieces of inventory, including couches, showers, sinks, bed sets, and other home needs.
Shoppers can also explore interior design displays, visit the home improvement section, and try out a test kitchen. Additionally, the Wilmette store features an on-site restaurant called “The Porch” featuring lunch favorites like sandwiches and salads, as well as coffee creations and all-day breakfast.
