Just because it’s October and the weather has cooled down doesn’t mean ice cream season is over; in fact, it has only just begun.
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, a nationally beloved brand that originated in New York City and is famous for its cult-favorite dairy and vegan ice creams, will celebrate the opening in 2nd store in Chicago and the milestone of 100 stores nationwide.
Ben Van Leeuwen, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream co-founder and CEO, said:
Our mission has always been simple: make good ice cream from good ingredients that makes you feel good. Since opening in Wicker Park, we’ve been humbled by how warmly Chicago has embraced us, and we’re thrilled to expand and reach even more people across the city. It’s especially exciting that Chicago is home to our 100th store – a milestone that means so much to our team as we continue to grow while staying true to what we do best.
To make things even sweeter, the Van Leeuwans is bringing back its limited-time Jeppson’s Malört ice cream. First introduced at the Wicker Park location, the flavor sold out in less than 48 hours and is returning by popular demand.
