If you’re an art aficionado in Chicago, chances are you’ve explored every wing of the Art Institute. But tucked in the heart of downtown is another stunning collection of masterpieces to uncover at The Driehaus Museum.
Uncover the beauty of the Gilded age
Just steps from Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, the Driehaus offers a thoughtfully curated collection of 19th- and early 20th-century art, spotlighting the elegance of the Gilded Age and the organic forms of Art Nouveau.
Even if the term “Gilded Age” doesn’t ring a bell, you’ve likely seen its influence—think iconic Tiffany lamps and botanical motifs.
Housed in a beautifully preserved mansion from the same era, the museum provides an immersive, transportive experience that brings the turn of the century to life.
Current and upcoming exhibitions
The Driehaus has an exciting schedule of exhibitions planned for 2025.
Right now, guests can uncover the beauty of the natural world through the paintings of Scottish artist Rory McEwen in Rory McEwen: A New Perspective on Nature (May 16-August 17, 2025).
This September, the museum will debut Tiffany Lamps: Beyond the Shade. The captivating exhibition offering a fresh, behind-the-scenes look at the iconic light fixtures.
