The long-awaited Six Corners Aldi grocery store in Portage Park will finally open in a matter of weeks according to company officials.
Located at 3930 N. Kilpatrick Ave, the store will span nearly 21,000 square feet of the ground floor of a triangular Six Corners development located at the intersection of N. Milwaukee Ave and N. Kilpatrick Ave.
Plans for the huge new Aldi have been in motion since 2018 but the project has been consistently delayed due to supply chain issues.
This week, however, it was revealed that a ribbon-cutting has now been scheduled to officially open the store at 3930 N. Kilpatrick Ave at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 7th.
According to Dan Jaster, executive assistant for Aldi’s Batavia Division, the new Six Corners Aldi grocery store will be open 7 days a week from 8:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.
APD Engineering & Architecture, PLLC has been in charge of the design of the new grocery store which features a rounded corner at the south end and a parking lot on the north side of the store with 67 parking spaces.
