The Lincoln Park Zoo just welcomed a new pint-sized, striped-resident—and the pictures are way too adorable.
An ultra-rare Grevy’s Zebra foal was just born at the zoo, marking a huge conservation milestone for the species.

All about the LP zoo’s new baby zebra
The Lincoln Park Zoo’s 19-year-old resident Grevy’s Zebra Adia gave birth to a healthy, 100-pound female foal on Monday, June 22.
The foal is Adia’s sixth offspring, according to a release, and fourth baby with proud zebra dad Wester.
“Adia has a great maternal track record with her past foals, and her strengths are already shining again as she cares for her newborn,” said zoo Curator Dan Boehm.
“We’re proud to play a part in conserving the Grevy’s zebra population through important births like this one.”
The foal’s birth comes as part of the Grevy’s Zebra Species Survival Plan, a cross-collaborative effort from Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Guests can visit the baby zebra now during regular zoo hours. The foal is easy to spot, with signature reddish-brown stripes that will turn black as she ages.
