On the back of one Chicago native, Chance the Rapper, announcing a somewhat impromptu hometown concert taking place very soon, another Chicago-raised star in the shape of Kanye West has hinted at his own special event in the coming days.
The rapper, producer, and fashion designer has a joint album with Ty Dolla scheduled for release this coming Friday titled “Vultures, Volume One” which according to an image posted to Ty Dolla’s Instagram last week will be split into three volumes.
Further social media posts from the two superstars in similar cryptic fashion have now hinted at a special event at Chicago’s United Center this week.
Late yesterday, Ty Dolla posted an image with the words “Vultures United Center Chicago 02 08 24” while Kanye West simply posted the number “1“.
Neither posts provided captions nor any further details but The United Center’s events calendar currently has no events taking place this coming Thursday, February 8th meaning it’s likely the two hip-hop superstars will soon confirm a listening party for their new collaborative album.
“Vultures” represents the first joint album from Kanye West and Ty Dolla though the two have collaborated on many released and unreleased works since they began making music together back in 2014 when Tu Dolla featured on Kanye West’s seventh studio album The Life of Pablo.
The two now refer to themselves as “¥$” —the signs for the Japanese currency Yen and the American currency Dollar which can consequently be read as Ye ‘n’ Dolla.
Stay tuned for more details.
