A Chicago finishes chapter 1 of 12 in 2024 and moves closer to warmer temps, the city’s live music and entertainment scene begins announcing all manner of concerts around Chicago for the rest of the year.
Big names will inevitably sell out venues like Chicago’s United Center but it is at some of the city’s small, historic venues where more intimate concerts can be experienced.
Having reopened at the turn of the year, Bridgeport’s Ramova Theatre now finds itself ranked among the city’s most iconic venues thanks to a multi-million dollar revamp by an investment and ownership group that includes musical heavyweights Quincy Jones, Jennifer Hudson, and Chance the Rapper.
Working alongside developer Tyler Nevius on the theatre’s resurrection, it was reportedly the celebrities’ way to give back to their hometown’s thriving music scene and now Chance The Rapper has given more reason to celebrate.
On Friday, February 16, the Chicago-born rapper will be performing an all-ages show at the theatre making it his first Chicago concert since headlining the United Center last year.
“I can’t wait to kick things off next month with a historic hometown concert at the newly restored Ramova Theatre,” says Chance the Rapper. “The Ramova has played an integral part in Chicago’s renowned arts culture and I’m thrilled we’re bringing it back to showcase the best of my city’s artistry.”
According to the release all ages are welcome to attend the Chance The Rapper show at Ramova which begins at 7 p.m.
Support has yet to be announced but venue presale for mailing list subscribers begins tomorrow, Thursday, February 1st at 10 a.m. before general admission tickets drop 24 hours later on Friday, February 2nd at 10 a.m.
“Chance is gearing up to release his next body of work, Star Line Gallery. The project sees Chance intertwine the worlds of art, music, and cinematography through a series of interdisciplinary works in collaboration with fine artists from The Continent and The Diaspora” read the release.
