Jeremy Allen White just might be Chicago’s favorite fictional chef, and at Sunday night’s SAG Awards, he shared his favorite real-life dining spots in the Windy City.
When asked which Chicago restaurants are among his go-tos, White took a moment to think before setting the record straight: “Bavette’s or La Scarola,” he replied.
Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf is no stranger to accolades, ranking No. 67 in last year’s roundup of the 101 Best Steakhouses in the World. The upscale spot is known for its signature dry-aged bone-in ribeye, homemade sourdough, and old-school ambiance.
Bavette’s is perfect for a romantic night out or a luxurious birthday celebration—but be careful, you’ll have to spend a pretty penny!
For a more laid-back meal that won’t break the bank, La Scarola is a Chicago staple serving up traditional Italian comfort food. Customers rave about the Chicken Parm and Penne Alla Vodka.
With wall-to-wall photos of celebrity visitors and tightly packed tables, La Scarola is a timeless Chicago classic.
