Summer is just around the corner, and with it comes the return of one of Chicago’s best-kept secrets: a beloved DIY concert series held right on the Chicago River.
Where to watch

The secret river concert series features local bands performing atop a concrete pillar rising from the Chicago River, while fans gather on the nearby Belmont Avenue bridge (2600 W. Belmont Ave.) to take in the show.
Fans can watch the show from above, or take a seat in the space beneath the bridge.
A local musical effort

A yearly tradition since 2022, the grassroots concert series is the brainchild of local musician Ben Kinsinger of the band Lawrence Tome, as first reported by Block Club Chicago.
Each event brings together the local underground alternative rock scene and dozens of devoted music lovers for a truly one-of-a-kind live music experience in Chicago—unlike anything else you’ll find in the city.
The 2025 season officially kicked off on May 10, but don’t worry—there are more shows to come. The next concert is set for Sunday, May 18, starting at high noon and rocking on until sunset.
