Each year, 360 Chicago—the iconic observation deck atop the former Hancock Tower (875 N. Michigan Ave)—selects a local artist to showcase their work on their attached outdoor terrace. This year’s artist has just been announced!
360 Chicago has selected local painter and artist Coleman Smoll to exhibit at the observation deck’s CloudWalk terrace, transforming the space into the cities highest art gallery this spring.
The exhibition will feature eight of Smoll’s paintings, exploring Chicago’s neighborhoods and daily life in the Windy City. Each of the paintings highlights the former Hancock Tower amongst the Chicago skyline, from various perspectives around the city.
“From vantage points throughout, this iconic monolith acts as the North Star for many Chicagoans,” said Smoll. “It’s a constant in our city’s skyline—something familiar that quietly connects us, no matter which neighborhood we call home.”
Access to the exhibition is included in standard admission for 360 Chicago.
An exact date for the opening of the exhibition is expected in the coming weeks. Follow 360 Chicago here for updates.
