
The annual Chicago Pride Parade returns Sunday, June 29 to Northalsted (f.k.a Boystown), taking all things pride to the streets.
From street closures to transit tips, there’s lots to know before you go in order to stay safe and healthy. Here’s your guide to navigating Chicago Pride.
Chicago Pride Parade 2025
The parade kicks off at the corner of Sheridan and Broadway in Chicago’s historic LGBTQ+ Northalsted neighborhood, formerly known as Boystown.
From there, it travels a 20-block route south on Broadway, continues along Halsted, then heads east on Belmont. The parade loops back south on Broadway before concluding at Cannon Drive near Diversey.
Street closures
A number of major roadways will be closed during the parade. The following streets will be off limits to traffic and parking:
- Both sides of Broadway from Irving Park to Waveland
- Both sides of Halsted from Sheridan to Waveland
- Both sides of Broadway from Melrose to Diversey
- Both sides of Waveland from Halsted to Broadway
- Both sides of Racine from Wellington to Belmont
- Both sides of Grace from Pine Grove to Fremont
- West side of Wilton from Belmont to 3245 N Wilton
- South side of Cuyler from Clarendon to Broadway
- Both sides of Sheridan from Sheffield to Inner LSD

Skip the traffic, take the train
If you’re looking to bypass the traffic, Chicago public transit will get you where you need to go. The CTA Red and Brown lines provide easy access to the parade via the Belmont stop.
Riders can also connect to the parade at the Sheridan and Addison Red Line stops, as well as the Wilson stop.
Health and safety first
Staying healthy should be a top priority when heading to the Chicago Pride Parade. Guests should prepare for high temperatures and large crowds. Here are a few tips to know before you go:
- Stay hydrated – be sure to pack plenty of water. It’s also a good idea to limit alcohol consumption to avoid dehydration.
- Have a meeting spot – with large crowds anticipated, its a good idea to have a meetup spot to avoid losing track of your group.
- Avoid bringing any prohibited items – alcohol, fireworks, scooters, and propane are all outlawed from the parade. View the full list of prohibited items here.
