Bonyeon is widely recognized as one of the more high-end restaurants in Chicago. It’s the city’s first steak omakase restaurant and happens to be one of the best spots in the city. The Stray Kids even rented it out before they headlined Lollapalooza.
Typically, the steak omakase menu offers an elevated 14-course tasting menu, which highlights the nuances of various beef cuts, intricately layered with Korean flavors and tradition. This dining experience comes at a steep price of $255. While many diners find the cost worthwhile, it’s not somewhere you casually go when looking for last-minute reservations.

Fortunately, Bonyeon is now more within reach for diners on a budget looking for places on weeknights. Chef Sangtae Park and his team have just introduced a new “Modu Monday” experience. The new offering combines Korean comfort food and premium proteins for just under $100 per guest.
The term “Modu” means “everyone” in Korean. The new dining experience is inspired by the spirit of communal dining—the goal of bringing people together through food. The menu features six courses of elevated Korean comfort food, so anyone and everyone can enjoy Bonyeon’s premium dining experience at a more accessible price point.
What’s on Bonyeon’s “Modu Monday” menu?
Dishes include Korean Army Stew with Akahoshi ramen noodles, succulent short rib, pork sausage, rice cakes, and chili kimchi puree; a “Korean BBQ” platter featuring hanger steak, pork belly, and skirt steak, served with banchan, ssamjang, and lettuce; and a “Tteokgalbi slider” topped with bone marrow miso butter and kimchi.
How much is Bonyeon’s “Modu Monday”?
The tasting menu is $95 per person.
