Summer in Chicago might be unofficially over, but the rainy conditions we saw all season aren’t going anywhere just yet.
The Windy City will see an extended bout of storms and showers this week, combined with a steady drop in temperatures.
Here’s a breakdown of the forecast.
Chance of showers throughout the week, daily highs dropping

Stormy conditions will linger for much of the week in Chicago, according to predictions from the National Weather Service (NWS).
Monday will be the exception, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 72 before a chance of thunderstorms come nighttime.
Tuesday will see rainy and stormy conditions all day, with a 60% chance of precipitation and a high of 81 degrees.

Additional showers will follow Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in the mid to low 70s both days and a 60-70% chance of precipitation.
The weekend will bring similar conditions, with intermittent chances of showers, overcast skies, and highs in the mid 70s.
While highs will reach the 70s for much of the week, overnight lows are predicted to drop to as low as 62 degrees, so make sure you keep a light jacket handy.
All in all, it’s looking like a soggy and comparatively cool week of pre-autumn weather in Chicago.
