A new exhibit is bringing the magical world of the Wizard of Oz to Chicago in time for the holidays.
The Driehaus Museum, Chicago’s beloved Gilded Age mansion-turned–art museum, presents The Land of Oz: Beyond the Page—a dazzling installation of memorabilia from the iconic 1939 film.

The carefully curated show provides an inside look at the production design, costuming, and writing that made the film possible.
Guests will explore artifacts including a replica pair of Dorothy’s Ruby Red Slippers and the Cowardly Lion’s Medal of Courage. Additional objects of intrigue include a rare illustration of the Emerald City and an original copy of the Wizard of Oz book.
With the air getting colder, there’s no better way to spend a fall afternoon than a trip to Chicago’s best kept art museum.
“One of the most popular movie quotes of all time is from The Wizard of Oz— ‘There’s no place like home,’” said Director Lisa M. Key. “…and this season, your home is the Driehaus Museum.”
