Already a long-standing Chicago staple, Wieners Circle’s evolution seems relentless in recent years. Since opening in 1983, the small hot dog stand renowned for its abuse has not only become one of Chicago’s most legendary hot dog vendors but has appeared on international television and had its own reality TV show.
The famed foul-mouthed institution then underwent an extensive overhaul and expansion in recent years, debuting a new look Weiners Circle in 2022 which now features a bar serving alcohol and an 800-square-foot patio as well as karaoke, a basketball net, and other exciting additions.
Now Weiners Circle has taken a step in a direction you wouldn’t have predicted joining forces with a Michelin Green Star winner named one of best restaurants in the United States by the New York Times to launch a January collaboration we didn’t know we needed.
Taking pigs in blankets to a whole new level, Lincoln Park’s Wieners Circle has teamed up with Logan Square’s Daisies to create an all-new Chicago-style croissant.
The exciting new Chicago-style breakfast option will exclusively be available at Daisies where it will be made by Daisies pastry chef and partner Leigh Omilinsky.
Promotional videos posted by both esteemed establishments show a Vienna Beef dog being rolled into croissant dough brushed with yellow mustard, green relish, onions, and celery salt before being dusted with poppy seeds ready to be charred. Once out of the oven, they are garnished with a tomato, a sport pepper, and a dear pickle.

Though known to many predominantly as a pasta-focused restaurant headed by Joe Frillman, and one of the best Italian restaurants in Chicago, by morning Daisies operates as a popular bakery and cafe selling much-loved pastries and coffee courtesy of the magic of Leigh Omilinsky.
Located at 2375 N. Milwaukee Avenue, the Chicago-style croissants will be available at Daisies all of January from 7 a.m. until each day’s supplies run out.
