You’re not alone if you’ve been overpaying for Uber rides when leaving the United Center. It’s one of the many qualms people share when attending sporting events and concerts there.
Fortunately, that has changed. Uber, one of the most popular rideshare companies, launched a new shuttle service in Chicago. This service offers fixed-price rides from events at the United Center. So you won’t have to wait to find a ride home or worry about sudden price surges.
The post-event shuttle will offer pre-booking, staggered departure times, guaranteed spots, a “locked-in price” following concerts, and Bulls and Blackhawks games at the venue.
You might be curious if the shuttle will magically transport you back home. The answer is no, but it’s quite convenient if you live near a popular destination. The shuttle makes stops at the Magnificent Mile, Ogilvie Transportation Center, Union Station, and Old Town.
How much does the Uber Shuttle from United Center cost?
Uber Shuttle rides begin at $5 per seat, and users can book up to four seats at a time. Users can pre-book or book on demand after an event. There are expected to be “additional destinations” announced in 2025.
How does the Uber Shuttle from the United Center work?
This feature is currently available in the Uber app. Users can select “Shuttle” from the home screen and will be directed to the dedicated Uber Shuttle pick-up area at the United Center once a spot is reserved. Uber Shuttle offers flat fare, shared bus rides to fixed locations in Chicago after major events and games at the United Center.
To request an Uber Shuttle ride, simply click on the “Services” tab at the bottom of the home screen in the app and select “Shuttle.”
After choosing your route and departure time, you can view your shuttle ticket in the app. At your scheduled departure time, show your ticket to the staff at the Uber tent and proceed to Lane 7 at the east end of the parking lot.
