Pokémon fans can soon celebrate 30 years of the franchise at the Chicago Field Museum’s pop-up exhibition.
The Pokémon Fossil Museum will be available for a limited time, so here’s what fans need to know.
What is the Pokémon Fossil Museum?
This interactive experience will combine the worlds of Pokémon and paleontology—fans will have the opportunity to compare Fossil Pokémon such as Tyrantrum and Archeops with real-world fossils, including the Field Museum’s iconic 40-foot-long T. rex, Sue.
The exhibit will also feature Excavator Pikachu, Pokémon Professors, and Field Museum scientists, providing access to “real fossil excavation and preparation tools” and “immersive exhibition soundscapes.”
When does the Pokémon Fossil Museum open in Chicago?
The exhibit will debut on May 22, 2026, and will run through April 11, 2027.
Are tickets available?
