Pokémon GO fans in Chicago have something epic to look forward to in 2026.
A decade after the wildly popular video game’s launch, a Pokémon GO festival is coming to Chicago’s Grant Park next summer!
Here’s everything to know about the event and what to expect.
Pokémon GO fest returns after 6 years

The 2026 festival will mark the fourth iteration of the event, which had a previous run from 2017 to 2019, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The event is the product of a collaboration between Pokémon GO developer Niantic and the Chicago Park District.
An exact date for the festival is still in the works, but reports suggest it will cover multiple days.
Projections indicate the event could garner as many as 40,000 attendees and generate over $1 million in revenue from permits alone, according to the Sun-Times.
What’s in store
Pokémon GO fanatics can expect interactive gameplay experiences, themed photo ops, food and drink options, merchandise, and other family-friendly activations.
The park district noted that the festival will not include alcohol or live music, nor will the event impact public access to Grant Park.
Fans can expect additional details including ticket options in the coming months.
