This weekend, immerse yourself in one of the most artistic and vibrant Chicago festivals. Featuring original works of art from 110+ independent artists, The Other Art Fair returns for its 6th Chicago edition at Artifact Events from April 11-14, 2024. Kicking off with an opening night event on Thursday, April 1, here are five things to see and do:
1. Meet the Artists
Meet the faces behind the exquisite art as you stroll around. There will be a showcase of over 110 talented artists, all of whom have been specially selected by an expert-led selection committee. The Other Art Fair allows art aficionados to uncover and purchase art directly from the best independent artists. See the complete list of artists here.
2. The Art Swap Shop
Get ready for a thrilling game of artistic exchange. The Art Swap at The Other Art Fair is a unique opportunity for attendees to bring in an original piece of art they no longer cherish and exchange it for something new. Whether you’re a seasoned collector looking to refresh your collection or an aspiring artist hoping to showcase your talent, the Art Swap Shop welcomes all. However, there’s the wrench; you won’t know what you’re swapping for until you’ve got it.
3. Stop By Englewood
Meet The Englewood Arts Collective as they invite you into their “living room.” Pay homage to the vibrant spirit of the Englewood neighborhood by participating in workshops spanning Beatmaking, Printmaking, Mosaics, and Macrame.
4. USPS Comes To You
Check out the captivating exhibition, SEND IT, a tribute to the iconic PRIORITY MAIL sticker. This sticker has transcended into a symbol of modern street art and graffiti. Curated by All Star Press, the exhibition offers a distinctive twist on the USPS priority mail label.
5. Food Truck Social
The 5411 Gourmet Empanadas and Yum Dum Food Truck will serve their savory bites at the Fair, so you won’t go famished while gazing at the art. Need a jolt of energy? Grab a coffee and delight in Vietnamese sweet treats from Fat Miilk!
