Chances are you already caught Christopher Nolan’s rendition of The Odyssey over the summer.
But this fall in Chicago, there’s another immersive way to experience the story at the National Hellenic Museum.
Here’s everything to know about the latest exhibit.
The Odyssey Reimagined

The National Hellenic Museum’s all-new exhibition The Odyssey Reimagined will bring Homer’s epic to life through the works of 16 contemporary artists.
The showcase will explore the fundamental themes of the nearly 3,000-year-old story, which include human connection, the search for home, and the battle against adversity.
Featured works will span painting, sculpture, installations, textiles, photography, and sound art.
The 16 exhibiting artists include Chicago-based creators Gina Lee Robbins, Allison Svoboda, and two-person collaborative Industry of the Ordinary, from artists Adam Brooks and Mathew Wilson.
Other notable artists include Greek painter Mina Papatheodorou-Valiraki and School of the Art Institute of Chicago alumnus Kyriakos Alexander.

“The Odyssey has endured for millennia because its themes are rooted in the universal human experience—longing for home, navigating uncertainty, experiencing separation and finding our way back to one another,” said Cortney Lederer, curator of The Odyssey Reimagined.
“Seeing 16 contemporary artists interpret those themes through their own artistic modalities is fascinating.”
The Odyssey Reimagined opens to the public on Thursday, October 1 and runs through Thursday, January 28, 2027.
