Once Halloween has passed us by it’s not long before Christmas decorations begin illuminating Chicago, light shows radiate from the city’s parks, and ice rinks offer festive fun around the city.
Over at Chicago’s recently opened Museum of Ice Cream, however, something a little different from the norm takes place within the enormous ice cream utopia.
Returning on Friday, November 17, ‘Pinkmas’ invites guests to celebrate the holidays with “a pink wonderland of interactive, limited-time activations like a Pinkmas tree forest, life-sized snow globe and a take-home gingerbread craft activity as well as guest favorites like the iconic sprinkle pool.”
Described on the Museum of Ice Cream website as “a Willy Wonka factory come to life that you won’t want to leave”, the Michigan Avenue location opened in 2022 with an array of magical and interactive installations across over 13,500 square feet.
In addition to the roster of picture-perfect immersive experiences, the Museum of Ice Cream is home to a CTA-inspired pink “Sprink-L” that takes guests into a 3,500-square-foot “speakeasy” where themed cocktails and snacks can be found.
Adding to the experience for the holiday season, the museum will be decked out in pink decor including an enormous snow globe and various areas for festive crafts. Meanwhile, guests can stay warm with seasonal sips and treats from the cafe including over-the-top ice cream sundaes or holiday cocktails for those 21+.
Pinkmas at the Museum of Ice Cream runs from Friday, November 17, 2023, through Monday, January 15, 2024.
The museum is open 11 am – 7 pm on weekdays except Tuesdays and 10 am – 7.30 pm on weekends. Prices range from $23 on special slots to $41 depending on time and day. Chicago’s residents, however, can receive a Chicago resident discount of 30% off by entering their billing address zip code as a promo code during checkout.
