If you’re an organic grocery shopper, you’re about to get an exciting surprise, as a well-known grocery chain prepares to make its debut in the state.
Sprouts Farmers Market, known for its abundance of fresh and organic food options, is set to open its doors in a spacious, 27,000-square-foot location formerly occupied by Dominick’s in the north suburbs.
According to NBC Chicago, the grocery store will be situated at 1160 W. Lake-Cook Road in the Chase Plaza shopping center. While this site has been vacant for quite some time, there is now a revitalization effort to breathe new life into the intersection of Lake Cook and Arlington Heights Roads.

The revitalization of Chase Plaza follows the closure of The Buffalo, a well-loved restaurant and ice cream parlor that recently shut its doors permanently, leaving a void in the community. In response, officials in Buffalo Grove are not only focusing on this project but are also enhancing another area of the village called “The Clove.”
This upcoming residential and entertainment district will feature a Whole Foods grocery store and a Dutch Bros. coffee shop, further elevating the dining and shopping options for residents.
Sprouts Farmers Market is recognized as one of the largest and fastest-growing specialty retailers in the U.S., primarily focusing on fresh and organic food.
With numerous locations already established across the western, southwestern, and southeastern states, Sprouts’ website identifies the Midwest—including Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana—as a key area for future expansion.
