The South Side Book Far literary festival is taking place this Sunday in the Whiner Beer taproom at The Plant. Taking place from 4 PM-9 PM, the event aims to bring back nostalgic book fairs of the past with a modern spin.
Go ahead and purchase books and other items from local vendors, renew your library card, and learn about organizations promoting reading, and imagination. All the vendors will have books available in both English and Spanish.
Whiner Beer has pledged to donate 20% of each core beer sold (Le Tub, Miaou, or Curb Cutter) to Liberation Library.

Popular Youtube channel, Bonding with a Book will lead a story time and art activities.

The Chicago Public Library will host a Back of the Yards branch which is usually located in the Back of The Yards neighborhood. This program encourages students to explore, create, collaborate, and develop new skills.

A 51st Ward Books booth, which serves as an anti-racist place to find multicultural, bilingual, and Spanish children’s books that inspire children.

Start the day with a free hour-long vinyasa flow class with yoga instructor Candis Oakley (E-RYT 200) of Very Human Social. Join Candis at the Winter Garden on the 3rd floor at noon. Normal tours of The Plant and Whiner’s brewery are still ongoing as usual during 2 PM and 3 PM respectively, with a bilingual tour of The Plant. Get tickets here.
