Chicago’s Self-Walking Dog Brings Smiles to the Loop

Self-walking dog, Sporty gives downtown Chicago all the warm, fuzzy feelings.

Next time you’re downtown, keep an eye out for this particularly smart pooch. Sporty, a self-walking dog often seen strutting through the Loop, is an 8-year-old golden retriever. He’s making every hardened commuter absolutely melt. You just can’t resist the urge to pet him! [Feature image: @sporty_thedog]

Sporty first won our hearts on his Instagram page, where his owner David Duncan posts photos and videos of their morning walks. The smiles he earns are contagious; many downtown business employees wait for him by the door with water and treats.

If you’re feeling blue as the weather gets colder, head downtown in search of Sporty’s fluffy, bright demeanor. He’s guaranteed to brighten your day and warm your heart. You can usually find him strutting down Michigan Avenue or visiting businesses in River North for hugs, pets, and free treats.
