“I could do this all day.”
When Replay Lincoln Park launch a new pop-up you know they mean business. After the success of previous pop-ups like the Central Perk Coffee Shop, Moe’s Tavern, Schitt’s Creek, and The Office, the beloved vintage video games bar is back with another of its pop-culture-themed pop-ups to send fans into overdrive. This time around you’ll find a superhero hideout down at 2833 N. Sheffield Avenue for their new Marvel-themed pop-up!
Running from July 30th through September 6th, there’s everything from Marvel trivia every Thursday night at 7 pm, to cosplay pageants, and Marvel arcade games. The impressive assortment of arcade machines including pinball, air hockey, and skeeball is now accompanied by a collection of the best Marvel-themed arcade games featuring classics like Marvel Vs. Capcom, X-Men Arcade, Spider-Man, and Marvel Vs. Street Fighter.
The best part? The event and all of the games are free, with no reservations, tickets, or tokens required.
Of course, as with every Replay pop-up, an array of Marvel art and installations now decorate the bar and a variety of delicious Marvel-themed cocktails have been crafted by the bartenders. You can now enjoy cocktails including the Wauconda 4ever; Hulk Smash’d; Ride the Lightning; I Love Your 300; I Am Inevitable, a limited time bomb, and more; along with themed treats like Quantum Pretzels, Stan Cur-Lee Fries, a Shawarma Smash, Auntie Mae’s Chocolate Cake.
There are also Guardians of the Galaxy karaoke nights, DJ sets on Thursday through Saturday, and some wonderful fan art for sale at the pop-up.
Located in Lincoln Park at 2833 N. Sheffield Avenue, Replay’s MARVEL-ous pop-up is open until 2 am every day and 3 am on Saturdays. No reservations and no cover are needed but if you’d like to sign up to the MCU trivia nights on August 12, 19, or 26 you can do so free of charge here.
According to an official release sent to Secret Chicago “Covid-19 restrictions will be practiced, and protocols will be strictly observed to ensure the safety of patrons and employees. Guests who show proof they have been fully vaccinated will be allowed to remove their masks. Please note, this is not an official event sanctioned by Marvel.”
