Chicago’s Largest Patio Is Throwing An Apocalyptic ‘Army Of The Living Dead’ Halloween Party

Featuring themed cocktails, food, and a costume contest.

If you’re familiar with West Loop’s Recess on 838 W. Kinzie Street, you’ll know that they make no little plans. When they throw a themed party they mean business. Last year’s Fire & Ice winter pop-up offered us a warm winter hideout and raised our spirits in times of turmoil while an ostentatious overhaul for their Sugar Rush pop-up made us feel like a kid in a candy store earlier this year.

Now Chicago’s largest outdoor patio is throwing a one-night-only zombie party on Friday, October 29th and we cannot wait to see what awaits at this apocalyptic affair.

The 14,500 -square-foot space and its surrounding 30 shipping containers will be transformed into an apocalyptic Las Vegas inspired by Netflix’s smash hit “Army of the Dead”. The cozy amalgamation of bars, food stands, and cabana houses found within will turn from a snug sanctuary to a surreal and shocking setup filled with blood-thirsty zombies.

Guests can enjoy themed food and drink specials from dead and undead staff and enter a costume contest for the chance to win a $500 prize. There will also be Halloween games for enthusiastic party-goers!

Doors open at 8 pm on Friday, October 29 at  Recess, 838 W. Kinzie Street.

Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased via Eventbrite. Note that these are for admission only, seating and other accommodations can be made by visiting chicagoinrecess.com/reservations.
