Portillo’s chocolate cake shake fans have a new reason to save room for dessert.
Starting October 6, the Chicago-born chain is adding three OREO-based treats to its menu, just in time for Halloween season.
Chicago’s Portillo’s rolls out 3 limited-time OREO desserts
The lineup includes:
- OREO Shake: Portillo’s hand-spun vanilla shake blended with crushed OREO cookie pieces.
- OREO Cake: a moist white cake mixed with crushed OREO pieces, iced with OREO frosting and topped with more cookie pieces.
- OREO Cake Shake: a hand-spun vanilla shake blended with a slice of the OREO Cake and finished with crushed cookies on top.
The OREO Cake Shake is building on what guests already love
The OREO Cake Shake builds on one of Portillo’s signature creations—the Chocolate Cake Shake.
We might not know how many calories it contains (please don’t tell us), but one thing is for sure: it’s a fan favorite.
The original recipe blends the brand’s famous cake right into a creamy shake. And we’re happy to report the new collaboration applies the same approach to the new cookie-and-cake combination.
“The OREO brand has always been about turning a delicious cookie into something people build memories around,” said Matt Foley, Vice President of OREO. Denise Lauer, Chief Marketing Officer of Portillo’s, described the lineup as a way to build on what guests already love about the brand’s desserts.
Plus, loyalty members get a deal. From October 12 to 18, members of the Portillo’s Perks loyalty program can get a $1 slice of OREO Cake w with a purchase of $5 or more.
The new items will be available at participating Portillo’s locations while supplies last.
