If you’re nostalgic for a mid-20th-century-style hangout complete with spinning vinyl stools and a stainless steel soda fountain, we have something that might quench that thirst.
A specialty soda shop, gallery, and curated gift store is officially opening in Chicago, featuring over 50 craft and hard-to-find soda brands and flavors.
Inside the POP/Culture Chicago, you’ll find sodas sourced from domestic producers and regional bottlers with devoted followings, along with international labels that are largely unavailable elsewhere in Chicago.

This new East Lakeview shop is a paradise for pop soda lovers
The lineup includes classic root beers and orange sodas, as well as more unexpected flavors like strawberry rhubarb, peach ginger ale, cucumber, matcha lemonade, and yuzu sparklers
The concept is the passion project of Chicagoan Jeremy Pinkwater, who spent years collecting brands, objects, and curiosities that inspired him to bring them together under one roof.
“I have always loved the idea of a place where people can discover something unexpected,” said Pinkwater.
Soda was a big part of that. There are so many incredible small producers and flavors most people have never seen before. But the shop is really about curiosity. You might come in for a bottle of soda and leave with a vintage collectible or something you did not even know existed.”
Beyond the soda offerings, the shop features an eclectic assortment of original artwork, collectibles, vinyl toys, apparel, and vintage finds, along with soda-themed candies and salty snacks.
POP/Culture Chicago is located at 2937 N. Clark Street in East Lakeview,
