An adult escape where every day’s a snow day.
The Chicago chill is officially upon us. As an unforgiving winter peeks over the horizon and ice approaches with every passing day we find ourselves at odds with where to look for our usual hideaways. In these teeth-chattering months, we rely on our winter watering holes and cozy cafes to get us through the worst of it and this year, with a ban on indoor dining , an already cruel Chicago chill looks even more ominous than years gone by.
But after all 2020 has thrown at us a bit of cold isn’t going to have us running for the hills and Chicago’s diverse dining scene has risen to the challenge. An array of outdoor spots have reinvented themselves for the months ahead but one that sticks out from the crowd is Old Grounds Social’s new and improved heated patio. The Lincoln Park favorite has converted its outdoor space into a cozy winter escape to ensure a season of fun holiday pop-up events can help get us through winter.
From Saturday, December 5 the new and improved heated patio will begin hosting the Snow Day Social series of special holiday events all with complimentary specialty cocktails included. Holiday-themed trivia will take place every Tuesday, Holiday Drag Bingo on Thursdays, and starting this coming Saturday, December 5, frequent live DJs will begin breathing life into Lincoln Park every Friday and Saturday.
Tables must be purchased for between 4-6 people and all events cost $25 per person. Cocktails are included with all events regardless of whether you’ve come to try your hand at trivia, sashay and slay with some holiday drag bingo, or just let loose of your adult responsibilities with weekend live DJ sets. Choose from Spiked Hot Apple Ciders, Boozy Hot Chocolates, Holiday Hot Toddys, and much more.
