Get a taste of Chicago summer this Saturday.
Chicagoans will have a lot less time to wait for the first of Navy Pier’s iconic fireworks displays this year. The beloved attraction has announced an inaugural ‘Summer Sampler’ event this coming weekend that will offer up a taste of what’s to come in a few months.
According to the Navy Pier’s Summer Sampler event page, it will feature “performances, food, fireworks and significant discounts including 50% off parking and wheel rides.”
Kicking off at 11 am on Saturday there will be performances every half hour starting with Wave Wall Moves, presented by See Chicago Dance 2 pm and finishing with a ‘Live on the Lake’ pop performance by Melody Angel at 8:15 pm. There will also be youth performances, jazz artists, and DJs playing throughout the day before the event concludes with the season’s first fireworks display at 9 pm.
As well as performances, there will be discounts on all things including half-price rides on the Centennial Wheel and half-price riverboat cruises. An array of free food and drink samples will be on offer from stands situated around the pier.
