The holiday season is in full swing and there is so much festive fun to be had in Chicago.
From Chicago’s exhilarating light shows to its resplendent holiday pop ups options can be found all over the city.
From noon today, however, the largest indoor and outdoor holiday experience in Chicago will join the mix offering “an enchanting winter celebration that promises to illuminate the Chicago lakefront” Light Up the Lake 2023.
Running from November 24 through to December 31st, Light Up The Lake’s dazzling program includes a spectacular array of light displays, seasonal delights, and performances as well as an assortment of free and ticketed activities.
Guests can cozy up with loved ones and roast smores by the toasty firepits, ignite their creativity at one of the free holiday workshops, shop for unique gifts at the artisan markets, or enjoy free live music every weekend.
For those looking for more of a thrill this winter, there will again be an enormous ice skating rink with a breathtaking backdrop of Lake Michigan while axe-throwing experiences provide the perfect activity to blow off some steam and compete with friends or family.
The Centennial Ferris Wheel will of course be offering heated rides with sensational views of the Chicago skyline and the nationally acclaimed Navy Pier firework displays will light up the skies on Saturdays at 9 pm.
Guests can bring their own skates to skate for free at the Light Up The Lake ice rink or rent skates for a fee of either $15 or $20 depending on the day.
