For the first time since 2020, both Chicago MLB teams are going to the postseason.
However, if you purchased tickets for a home Wild Card game, you have likely already received a refund, as neither team will start its playoff run at home (yes—we’re bummed, too).
If you’re getting ready to watch, it will probably be on a screen—unless you’re traveling to California or Texas. And let’s see… plane tickets are going for as low as … $400. So yeah, as we said, we’ll be watching on our TV.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Wild Card series for both the White Sox and Cubs.

Could 2026 deliver the first Chicago vs. Chicago World Series?
The Wild Card Series will take place from September 29 to October 1. The Division Series will follow from October 3 to October 10, with the Championship Series scheduled for October 11 to October 20. Finally, the World Series is set for October 23 to October 31.
Although Chicago may have to watch the opening games on TV, the city has two teams to support this October.
Could we see the first Chicago vs. Chicago World Series? Our fingers are crossed.
