One of the special summer traditions in Chicago is set to make its much-anticipated return next month, as this year’s free film series kicks off at the iconic Millennium Park.
The series will get underway on June 30 and continue on Tuesdays throughout the summer, offering a mix of classic films and newer releases for residents of all ages.
Chicagoans can look forward to a movie lineup that includes heartwarming films like “Ratatouille,” as well as critically acclaimed movies such as the Oscar-winning drama “Sinners.”
Millennium Park free movie series schedule
- June 30: Independence Day (1996, PG-13) — 30th anniversary
- July 7: Ratatouille (2007, G) — Kickoff to Taste of Chicago
- July 14: When Harry Met Sally (1989, R) / This is Spinal Tap (1984, R) — Tribute to Rob Reiner Double Feature
- July 28: Hamilton (2020, PG-13) — America 250 celebration
- Aug. 4:The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001, PG-13) — 25th anniversary
- Aug. 11: The Devil Wears Prada (2006, PG-13) — 20th anniversary
- Aug. 18: Sinners (2025, R)
Each screening will take place at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, starting at 6:30 p.m.
