Save room for dessert, Chicago—Milk Bar’s long-awaited debut is finally here!
After months of anticipation, the viral New York City-based sweets shop is launching its first local storefront in Fulton Market on Saturday, February 8 at 10 a.m., according to a release.
The confection shop first announced its Midwestern move in a social media post last year and has teamed up with local restaurant group Boka to bring the new shop to life.
Milk Bar’s viral legacy

Milk Bar is the brainchild of acclaimed pastry Chef Christina Tosi, who has turned the company into a viral sensation since its founding in 2008.
The company has gained a cult following for its creative baked goods and unmistakable hot pink branding.
Even if you’re unfamiliar with the Milk Bar name, there’s a good chance you’ve seen one of Tosi’s treats cross your Explore page at some point.
Milk Bar’s famous Cereal Milk Soft Serve and Compost Cookies are regular features on food blogs and Instagram feeds. Additionally, the shop’s best-selling birthday cake is a favorite treat of Taylor Swift.
Tosi’s love letter to Chicago

Milk Bar enthusiasts can expect the shop’s full menu at the new location, including cookies, cake truffles, ice cream cups, and goodies galore.
Milk Bar has some special Chicago-inspired treats planned as well, including a “Hotdog Bomb” bagel creation and a cookie inspired by Portillo’s famous Chocolate Cake.
Tosi refers to these specials as her “love letter” to Chicago, a testament to the flavors that have made our city a world-class food destination.
Grand opening celebration
Milk Bar has some special engagements in store for its grand opening on February 8. The first 50 customers in line will receive a free copy of Chef Tosi’s latest cookbook Bake Club: 101 Must-Have Moves for Your Kitchen.
Milk Bar Chicago will be open at 200 N. Green Street from 8 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m.–1 a.m. Friday through Sunday.
