Introducing the most Chicago collaboration in history thus far. Everyone knows Lou Malnati’s and Portillo’s, two Chicago restaurants famous for their pizza and Italian beef hotdogs. Is it really surprising that the two joints have come together to create a signature dish? Not really. Italian Beef Deep Dish Pizza is perfectly aligned, an inspired collaboration with endless cheese.
The pizza features Lou Malnati’s signature flaky crust, tomatoes, and Wisconsin cheese– of course– and is topped with Portillo’s slow-roasted Italian beef. There are two varieties available: a sweet pepper-topped pie or a spicy giardiniera option. Order both if you want, but beware that the collab won’t be sold in restaurants. You can order a pie or two at tastesofchicago.com, and they’ll be shipped via UPS on dry ice to preserve the goodness. You can even order a sample platter and experience the two pies together for the Chicago experience.
The idea initially came about earlier this year when Lou Malnati’s decided they wanted to test out an Italian Beef Deep Dish Pizza. Now, the collaboration is available in packs of two, four, or six, with pricing starting at $72.99.
The ultimate combo seems to be Portillo’s Italian Beef Kit, which includes a chocolate cake and Italian beef deep dish pizza with hot giardiniera’s. ($137)
Now available for shipping nationwide, it’s your time to try out an incredible collaboration before it sells out. Each nine-inch deep dish pizza is made from scratch and is flash frozen to preserve its freshness. Once it arrives at your door, it’s ready to bake and enjoy whenever you so desire.
