Families looking for a fun activity for the kids will have a new option in the Chicago suburbs in 2026.
Lava Land, a sprawling tropical-themed indoor playground is preparing to open its doors in suburban Kildeer!

30,000 square feet of play

Lava Island will open at 20771 N Rand Road and cover 30,000 square feet of space, as first reported by NBC.
The immersive space will feature foam pits, trampolines, jungle gyms, a tricycle course, and a towering volcano slide.
Additionally, the play place will offer kid-approved food and beverage options like funnel cake fries, pizza, and other delectable bites.
Families looking to throw the perfect party for their little one will have several themed party rooms and event packages to choose from.
Opening timeline

A grand opening date for the Kildeer location is still in the works, but according to Lava Land’s site, the facility should open in spring 2026.
“We can’t wait for you to experience the Lava Island magic for yourself, ✨” wrote the company in a social media post.
