There’s something incredible about a movie with a beautiful score—it moves you and sweeps you off your feet all at once.
However, experiencing it live is even more remarkable.
The Auditorium Philms Concert Series remains one of Chicago’s most distinctive cultural experiences. This multimedia event brings films to life through live orchestral performances.
This year, they have somehow surpassed expectations with a transcendent show last spring featuring the acclaimed Academy Award®-winning film “La La Land.” Justin Hurwitz conducted the concert himself, delivering a mesmerizing performance.
If you missed it, you have another opportunity to see Hurwitz live this weekend. He’s back tomorrow to conduct the Academy Award®-winning film “Whiplash”
The show features an 18-piece jazz big band, including a world-class drummer who travels with the production, with the music performed live by the Chicago Philharmonic in sync with the film.
Justin Hurwitz will conduct, with special guest drummer Greyson Nekrutman.
