If you haven’t heard about the Auditorium Philms Concert Series, let us fill you in—it’s one of Chicago’s most unique cultural experiences.
Last year marked the inaugural collaboration between the Auditorium and the Chicago Philharmonic, creating a multimedia event that brings films to life through live orchestral performances. Yet, this year, they are somehow surpassing expectations with an incredible schedule showcasing some of the most beloved films and their moving scores.
This April, live music and cinema will elevate the already acclaimed the Academy Award®-winning film “La La Land,” starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, written and directed by Damien Chazelle. Justin Hurwitz is set to transform the auditorium with a mesmerizing live concert as the Chicago Philharmonic and a live jazz band perform the score in sync with the movie.
After the La La Land, the 2025 season of the Auditorium Philms Concert Series will feature several compelling films, including the 40th anniversary of “The Goonies” on April 26, the 30th anniversary of “Toy Story” on June 14, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” on October 25, and “The Holiday” on December 20.
