As we head into September, the air gets a bit crisper, and while we may feel a little gloomy that summer is officially over, there’s so much to love about fall. One thing we especially enjoy? Fall festivals! That brings us to the Jupiter Flights Balloon Festival—Indiana’s largest balloon festival
This stunning balloon festival is one of the most magical events of the season, featuring a breathtaking display of balloons taking to the sky during sunrise and sunset. Luckily, it’s just a short drive from Chicago!
From Friday, September 11, to Sunday, September 13, the festival will light up the skies with a balloon race, live music, family activities, and spectacular views across the prairie.
The highlight of the festival is the opportunity to take a ride in the 1859 Balloon Voyage, giving you a chance to experience the festival from over 350 feet in the air.
Sunrise: Jupiter Flights Balloon Morning Festival
Morning activities included with your ticket take place on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

- Carnival Rides and the Tubing Hill
- 1859 Balloon Voyage Exhibit (exhibit only; the balloon will not be flying during hot air balloon competitions for the safety of guests and staff)

Sunset: Jupiter Flights Balloon Evening Festival
Night activities included with your ticket take place Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12, 5–10 p.m.
Around 6 p.m.: Half of the balloons will lift off for a competition-style flight.
Around dusk: The remaining balloons will move to the launch field for the Balloon Glow, where guests will be able to walk among the balloons!
