Things will look a little different for IKEA shoppers in and around Chicago beginning next year.
The popular Swedish home goods brand has announced plans to close its suburban Bolingbrook storefront and relocate to a smaller-format location in neighboring Naperville.
IKEA coming to Block 59 shopping center

The new reduced-size store will open at Naperville’s Block 59 shopping center, located about a 20-minute drive from the Bolingbrook location (750 E Boughton Rd.).
IKEA confirmed in a statement that the Bolingbrook store will remain open to the public until late 2027, with the Naperville store opening around the same time. IKEA’s Schaumburg store will also remain open.
“This relocation reflects how our customers are increasingly living, working and shopping across the broader Bolingbrook-Naperville corridor,” said IKEA.
“By moving the shopping experience to a small format store in Naperville, we are positioning IKEA closer to growing population centers and a popular shopping district while maintaining strong accessibility for existing Bolingbrook customers.”
