A portion of the profits will benefit TransTech, an incubator for LGBTQ Talent in a co-working community.
While cities across America may be deprived of their pride festivities normally celebrated throughout the month of June, Goose Island brewery has found a way to say cheers to the LGBTQ+ community. Yesterday, the brewery debuted their new dazzling new beer — the Shea Coul-Alé, featuring Chicago-native, and former RuPaul’s Drag Race star, Shea Couleé.
Goose Island is no stranger to creativity. In the past month, they’ve dispatched a blacked-out (no pun intended) beer van to course the city, playing ice cream music, and encouraging thirsty Chicagoans to call the van’s number for a beer delivery. This month, they’ve found a way to honor the LGBTQ+ community with their latest ale.
The brewery’s new beer spares no flare. Shea Coul-Alé is packaged in a bright, sassy pink and yellow can and features a glittered-out sparkling goose rocking black-eyeliner on its label. As for the ale itself, Shea Coul-Alé is a dry-hopped wheat ale that contains a relatively low 4.2 ABV%, but makes up for the buzz with the lemony notes.
You can preorder their fierce new beer on June 3, coincidentally when the City of Chicago moves into Phase 3 of its reopening plan. On June 10, the brewery will begin curbside pickup and delivery from their Fulton Taproom and Clybourn Brewhouse.
Furthering their support of the initiative, Goose Island will donate a portion of the profits from their new ale to TransTech Social Enterprises, which provides support, jobs, and educations to members of the trans community. The organization was chosen by Couleé herself, and was founded by Angelica Ross, an activist and actress in the series Pose.
Although festivals and events are on hold right now in the city, you can enjoy this fabulous new beer during the virtual Chicago Pride Fest that kicks off Saturday June 10!
