Flying out of Midway just got a whole lot better, with the grand opening of the airport’s first-ever passenger lounge, “Club MDW,” on Wednesday.
According to a statement from the Chicago Department of Aviation, the new lounge boasts first-rate amenities, including complimentary refreshments, a bar, comfortable seating areas, and workspaces equipped with charging stations.
All flyers will have access to Club MDW regardless of airline or flight class, with either the purchase of a $50 day pass or membership to a third-party lounge network. Passengers will have access to the club up to three hours before their flight departs.
Mayor Brandon Johnson and members of the CDA joined Midway officials on Wednesday to celebrate the new state-of-the-art facility.
“Midway International Airport is an essential gateway for our city, and The Club MDW is a key part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the travel experience here in Chicago for leisure and business passengers,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson.
“Our commitment to investing in Midway reflects our mission to continue delivering a world-class experience that meets the needs of all travelers.”
Club MDW officially opens to flyers on Thursday near gate B1 in Midway’s central market. Daily hours of operation are from 4 a.m. – 10 p.m., with the bar opening each day at 6 a.m.
