It’s been a scorching September in Chicago thus far, but all that is about to change just in time for the fall equinox.
This week’s Windy City forecast shows a 180-degree switch from the hot, humid, and rainy weather we’ve seen over the past month.
Here’s a breakdown of the numbers.
Highs in the 60s, dry conditions in Chicago this week

Chicago’s been through the ringer over the past several weeks, with extended periods of oppressive heat and torrential rains.
If predictions from the National Weather Service are any indication, however, the worst just might be behind us after Monday.
The start of the week saw a high near 63 degrees and a spate of early morning showers, with conditions clearing by afternoon.
Tuesday will see cloudy skies but dry conditions overall, with a high of 62 degrees and wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour.
Wednesday and Thursday will see similar conditions with highs in the mid 60s.

Come the weekend, expect brisk temperatures and plenty of sunshine. Friday and Saturday will see highs in the mid to upper 60s with mostly sunny skies.
Sunday will be partly sunny with a high of 70 degrees, making for a perfect early fall day.
To sum it all up, we’re finally receiving some much-needed nice weather in Chicago this week, so be sure to get outside and make the most of it!
