There is something special about spring. After a dreary winter filled with snow-covered grass, it’s nice to see beautiful, colorful flowers emerging from the ground.
It brightens everything before summer truly sets in. What we especially love is the combination of spring with a nice escape from Chicago. We have a suggestion for you—albeit a bit far, but nevertheless worth it.
A town in Southern Illinois is hosting the ultimate spring event this weekend.
300,000 tulips are in full bloom at Eckert’s Farm
Eckert’s Farm in Belleville, Illinois, has a Tulip Trail featuring 300,000 tulips in all colors for you to frolic through—and if you haven’t had the chance to see them, this is the last weekend, which they’re making extra special.
Three hot air balloons will make an appearance among the blooms: two traditional round balloons and one whimsical llama-shaped balloon will be set up throughout the field, creating a stunning spring setting that oscillates from enchanting to full-on magical.
The balloons will be on-site from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, with inflation scheduled between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
