Go big or go dome!
Last year, as winter gripped hold of Chicago and the global pandemic forced restrictions on indoor dining some of the places we turned to were Chicago’s renowned outdoor patios and rooftops. Thriving utopias in the summer months, we saw rooftops and patios reinvent themselves during the winter months with igloos, fire pits, and much more offering memorable nights beneath the stars. One of the places that was doing this before Covid began wreaking havoc on our shores was Chicago’s beloved City Winery.
In 2019, the award-winning urban winery debuted a series of transparent domes on the Chicago Riverwalk to help Chicago battle the winter months in style. When Covid came along City Winery was thus already one step ahead of the crowd. Though the Riverwalk location has now packed up for winter, City Winery’s West Loop patio has once again been decked out with heated domes so you can enjoy wine made on-site from the comfort of your own climate-controlled transparent dome.
Throughout December, groups of up to 8 can book a dome and enjoy full-service dining along with iconic mulled wine, spiked cider, or a hot chocolate at the 33,000-square-foot functioning winery and music venue.
Reservations can be booked through Resy.com here and more information can be found at citywinery.com/chicago.
Note that proof of vaccine or a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours must be presented on arrival.
The City Winery West Loop location can be found at 1200 W Randolph Street.
